Lebanon Reservoir
Lebanon Reservoir is a small lake in the town of Lebanon in Madison County, that provides some good fishing and recreation. There is no restriction on boat size here. Many lakeside residents live here year round but there are some seasonal camps here as well as a public campground. We have fished, tubed and water skied here but it’s a little small for water skiing in my opinion.
Like many lakes in New York, there has been a milfoil weed invasion however, the density of milfoil dropped last year to its lowest level since the biological control effort began in 2003.
When we bought our first boat, this is the body of water that we launched it in for the very first time. The public launch is adequate but it can be a challenging when the water levels get low. The lake can also get congested with traffic very quickly because of it’s small size.
What is nice about this lake is the fact that it is so close to where we live. We don’t need to bring a Briggs and Riley set of luggage with us to go for a spin. It’s also a nice spot in the fall to launch a small fishing boat once the public launch dock is removed and we have closed our cabin for the season.
