We are going to check on the trail camera and see what’s been walking around.

This is my tree stand. It’s a lovely spot, lots of deer sign.

Unfortunately we have yet to see anything in the camera except for a young son pretending he was a deer. The camera is being set off by squirrels and birds most likely.

Hunting season opens soon so we will all be heading to the town hall to purchase licenses. This year, the state finally lowered the big game hunting age to 14. That means my 14 year old can hunt with a gun this year. It’s about time NY changed this law as we were the only state in the nation with such ridiculously high licensing requirements.

Also, to answer your question, we have plenty of deer sign around our cams, but so far not a lot of deer pictures. I’m going to be heading out this weekend to check them out, so hopefully something will show up on them.

I wouldn’t give up on your spot because of lack of cam pics though-I know I’m not.
